Preparation of polytetrafluoroethylene low temperature superhydrophobic film by magnetron sputtering

For insulator in transmission line project of low temperature anti icing requirements on glass substrates by low temperature super hydrophobic PTFE films by reactive magnetron sputtering, to study the effects of sputtering parameters on the properties of the superhydrophobic films, and explores the superhydrophobic properties of thin films at low temperature. The wettability, surface morphology, film thickness and roughness of the film surface were characterized by water contact angle measuring instrument, scanning electron microscope and surface profiler respectively. The results show that the PTFE films prepared by magnetron sputtering have excellent hydrophobic properties, and the maximum static water contact angle of the films is up to 170 degrees + 3 degrees, and the superhydrophobic properties can be maintained at low temperature.Industrial furnace oven lab heating equipments drying oven for laboratory
The surface of superhydrophobic film refers to the material's static contact angle (i.e., water contact angle) greater than 150 degrees and the rolling angle is less than 10 degrees. Because the water droplets are difficult to adhere, the icing ratio can be reduced, so the superhydrophobic film can be applied to freeze protection at low temperature and reduce the freezing disaster. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a polymer material, has good thermal stability, chemical stability, weather resistance, low surface energy, no adhesion, high mechanical strength and excellent electrical insulation properties, because of its excellent performance in the fields of coating, waterproof fabric to be widely used, such as cotton the fabric waterproof layer, paint and other aerospace electronic equipment. There are a variety of methods in material surface construction of super hydrophobic films, including chemical vapor deposition, chemical modification, physical vapor deposition, electrochemical deposition, including magnetron sputtering thin film has many advantages, such as advantages of substrate material and coating material requirements limit and film uniform, dense film substrate adhesion, can improve the service life of the thin film. Magnetron sputtering utilizes argon ions generated by glow discharge to bombard the cathode target surface, so that the ejected particles migrate to the substrate, and then grow into a film. PTFE is the chain structure of the polymer, its structural units (-CF2-CF2-), particle composition produced in sputtering is very complex, different from metal or ceramic has a fixed component, it includes CF3, CF2, CF-CF, C-CFn, CC and other fluorocarbon groups, these groups in the basal membrane to make cross-linking structure and fluorocarbon PTFE the film is the target and caused great difference.
The current research for low temperature freezing resistance of super hydrophobic film is mainly surface anti icing and ice delay performance, Patrice and Glaris by using heat treatment to form the rough structure on the surface of the PTFE plate, so as to prepare superhydrophobic films; chemical etching method and hot water treatment using Zhiping Zuo the formation of coral aluminum surface, prepared by super hydrophobic surface contact angle of 164.8 degrees, the surface is maintained at 6 DEG C - ice for more than 110 min; Zahira Ghalmi using impregnation method, PTFE thin film Al2O3 porous nanostructured surface plating obtained by anodic oxidation in phosphoric acid electrolyte, 15 icing / deicing cycles, the film still maintain good hydrophobicity.High Vacuum PECVD Furnaces
